My new couch – Ektorp

This past weekend, I was finally able to purchase a couch for my home. YAY! I am so very excited to finally have a couch and have something to sit on. I was growing tired of standing in the kitchen, sitting on the floor or at the dining room table. I, of course went to my favorite place – IKEA!! I thought long and hard about an Ikea couch as opposed to a higher price furniture store. I was going to go with a gorgeous $1600+ couch that I LOVED from Z Gallerie but settled on the most economical choice for right now.I may still invest in that couch but I am happy with my choice and my deciding factors for Ikea’s Ektorp couch.

Now, I already knew that I wanted a white couch. As you may know I do have two children but they are both teenagers, which now that I think about it is probably worse than having toddlers when it comes to spilling things but can you say Scotch guard!

Ladies Night at Ace Hardware DC

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the 5th street Ace Hardware’s 5th Annual Ladies Night! Now I love visiting Ace Hardware anyway for most of my home necessities but it was even more fabulous to be surrounded by so many women who love to maintain their homes as well. The evening started at 6pm with jam packed gift bags for the 1st 100 guests (I didn’t make the cut *sad face*). There were a lot of raffle prizes, snacks, a photo booth, manicure station, wine, product vendors and DIY demos. Continue reading

Marsala – Pantone’s 2015 Color of the year

After several years of releasing their color of the Year, Pantone has chosen Marsala for 2015. I am so in love with Pantone’s new color of the year, or at least the several variations of it. I’m not a lover of the color red but there is something about the warm muted tone that has me intrigued. Maybe it’s the fact that it is one of my high school’s colors and it has already grown on me.
